Sep. 24th, 2004 07:23 pmI'm going to Moscow tonight to do some extracurricular reading for Eastern Europe/Central Asia class. Does anyone I like need anything while I'm there? I'm at the national library (there's some quite interesting classified stuff in the national archives, but I don't think that's allowed for class material, still being top secret and everything) most of the time.
By the way, Kitty, I'm borrowing your short black skirt while I do it, because there's a very old night-shift guard who has a weakness for pretty girls and bribes in American dollars. Don't worry, he wouldn't last five seconds in a fight, and can't use his gun very well as he's arthritic. It's quite sad actually. I found that out the first time I practised my cat burglary skills.
(I've dedicated that hole in the ceiling to myself. It made the most spectacular noise you'd ever heard. Missed me by three meters, of course.)

Date: 2004-09-24 06:51 pm (UTC)You do know that Ms. Reyes has a point, though, don't you? Going to Moscow and murder aren't comprable, and while I don't know what the rules are regarding Moscow, but if it's against them you know they'll give you shit.
Although they didn't last time, so maybe it's not against the rules?

Date: 2004-09-24 06:55 pm (UTC)I was more dubious in regards to the whole 'bribery' and 'bullet hole in the ceiling' aspects of the post. But I'm crazy that way.

Date: 2004-09-24 07:05 pm (UTC)I assume your passport is up to date, though, right 'Yana. I mean, you're not exactly going through customs, but it's a good idea to have the forms in order.
Actually, your passport would still say you're a little girl. You might want to look into that.
As for the bribery and bullet hole, um. I think it's a bit of 'When in Rome'. Russia's still not the safest place in the world.

Date: 2004-09-24 06:56 pm (UTC)Well, she would have a point, only I haven't heard a single thing about going to Russia. Drinking, yes, but I don't; violence, probably, but the only time I've had to do that was when Gregor (the night-shirt guard) tried to shoot me. And then only to disarm him and give him my allowance.
What I'm doing is practically legal. Except in the ways that it's not. Details, details.

Date: 2004-09-24 07:08 pm (UTC)Well, no, then my passport's not in order. But it's okay, they think I'm a native. I'd be more worried if I was asked for my forms here.

Date: 2004-09-24 07:39 pm (UTC)As for the documents issue, if the Professor hasn't seen to it yet I could probably arrange something. See above comment about friends in Moscow.

Date: 2004-09-24 07:46 pm (UTC)Excuse me while I am thoroughly unintimidated by your friends in Moscow.
Why does everyone seem to insist on perfectly unnecessary steps in a very simple process? Moscow is not the most dangerous city I could go to. I mean, if I really wanted to put my life in danger, I'd go someplace with guns made this century.

Date: 2004-09-24 07:55 pm (UTC)And you don't know my friends in Moscow, Illyana. Of course, if I called them for this sort of favor they'd just think Dom was running amuck in the Kremlin again, and then she'd have to maim me for making people think she couldn't handle herself...

Date: 2004-09-24 08:01 pm (UTC)Calling them would be a very short-sighted thing to do, especially as I am only reading books and winning at chess with an old Russian man named Gregor, for whom I have done a great service in bribing him, by the way. It is practically humanitarian of me and he would be very disappointed if he could not buy as much vodka because I was detained in America or by your probably violent friends.

Date: 2004-09-24 08:12 pm (UTC)Fair enough. I'll call my ex-FSB friends and have them tell their current-FSB friends that the poor fellow could use some company. I may or may not mention the young blonde woman popping in and out to read classified documents.

Date: 2004-09-24 09:06 pm (UTC)Time travel? Whatever for? I personally have never come across such a thing, but I shall keep a look out if you wish.

Date: 2004-09-24 09:09 pm (UTC)I've come across a recent interest in time travel. And crickets. Forgot to mention the crickets.

Date: 2004-09-24 09:11 pm (UTC)Well, should I find anything, I will send it to you. Crickets, though, I don't think I can help you with. Perhaps you could ask Doug. He talked to cicadas earlier this year, crickets shouldn't be a stretch.

Date: 2004-09-24 09:14 pm (UTC)I have yet to meet this Doug. He will be looked up. Actually, I have yet to meet you, either.
